Event Coordinator
About the company:
Facings of America, founded in 1967, is a tile and stone importer and distributor offering a curated assortment of fine tile, stone, and exterior facades and was named a 2023 Best Place to Work the Phoenix Business Journal. Our Purpose: Creating a meaningful place together defines both our commitment to developing the employees who call Facings home, and our passion for partnering with our clients to ensure the success of each of their projects.
As a growing organization, we believe in providing our team members the opportunity to do what they love every day, which has allowed us to continue to build a dedicated team of industry experts who operate with a solution-minded approach.
About the Event Coordinator Role:
Facings of America is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and trend-savvy Event Coordinator to design and execute elevated events that reflect our commitment to excellence in tile and stone design. From intimate happy hours to our marquee Design for Dogs event, this role will be instrumental in bringing our brand to life through memorable and immersive experiences for clients and the design community.
As the Event Coordinator, you’ll get to:
Plan and Execute Events
40% of your time will include planning and pulling off amazing events that wow and inspire—from educational workshops and co-sponsored supplier events to interactive experiences and show-stopping gatherings like Design for Dogs. Team up with internal stakeholders to keep everything on-brand and aligned with Facings’ goals. Bring your creative A-game to develop unique, engaging concepts that not only stand out but also reflect the latest industry trends.
Coordinate & Manage Events
30% of your time will be spent keeping the event engine running smoothly by maintaining and updating the master event calendar like a pro. Handle all the nitty-gritty logistics—venue bookings, vendor selection, speaker coordination, and catering—like it’s second nature. Take charge of invitations, RSVPs, and keeping attendees in the loop with clear, friendly communications. Own the event budget to ensure every dollar works hard, and on the big day, manage everything from setup to breakdown with finesse and flair.
Collaborate with Marketing
You’ll spend about 25% of your time working with marketing to spread the word about events through newsletters, social media, and any creative channel that grabs attention. Keep communication crisp and timely with all stakeholders before, during, and after the event—because clear updates keep everyone happy. Reconnect with past and current clients through thoughtful, targeted outreach to spark engagement and strengthen partnerships. After the confetti settles, gather post-event feedback to uncover opportunities to make the next event even better!
Manage Vendors
About 5% of your time will be spent building rock-solid relationships with key vendors and suppliers, keeping the partnerships as smooth as freshly laid tile. Negotiate contracts and agreements that deliver top-notch value and service. When the big day arrives, keep a close eye on onsite vendor performance to make sure everything runs like clockwork and exceeds expectations.
