Why choose our Natural Stone over pre-cast or other stones from around the world?
Facings of America travels the world looking for the most unique and beautiful products to enhance the beauty of our customers'  projects. A family member regularly travels to Italy to ensure the stones and carvings used in our projects meet our, and more importantly, your high expectations for quality and detail. Our stones are the same type of stones that were used to build old-world Italy. The stones used to build the Roman Coliseum, Vatican and small villages around Europe are the same stones you will purchase from Facings and they have stood the test of time in proving their durability and timeless appearance.

What separates Facings products from our competitors?
Facings takes pride in ensuring our stone, ceramic, porcelain and glass tiles comes from the finest sources found in the world.  Most of our products are personally selected by one of our company owners or representatives traveling the world looking for the most beautiful and unique products for your project. We offer you the largest selection of stones, finishes and sizes from which to choose for your project and we will even take you into our warehouse where we will lay out several pieces to see first hand what you're floor will really look like.

Our stone carvers are sculptors who have learned their artistic skills from their ancestors and who continue to teach their skills to the younger generations of carvers. Your fireplace will not be just another home accent but an actual piece of artwork carved by a skilled artisian.  We personally design our own pieces to meet your individual project needs and ensure a one-of-a-kind look.   Our stones also comes with a  "Certificate of Authenticity" documenting the fact that your stone is genuine Italian travertine or limestone.

There is a reason we are regularly told, "No one else can do what Facings does".

What are the differences between quality ceramic or porcelain tile and less expensive alternatives?
First, not all tiles are created equal and is a very complex question to answer due to the number of variables that affect the quality of tiles such as the hardness, resistance to staining, type of finish, type of body used to create the tile, the amount of time and temperature the tile spends in a kiln and rectification of the tile. This is one reason why we spend so much time educating our design consultants to help ensure you receive the proper guidance for your project. Facings offers products in all price and quality ranges. Our knowledgeable sales staff, 43 year industry reputation and showroom presentation is a major reason why the biggest names in the tile industry, including Walker Zanger, Bisazza, Sicis, Ann Sacks, Stovax, Epro, Bob Timberlake, Counterpoint, McIntyre, Decorrativa Terracotta, and countless others want Facings of America displaying and selling their product. You won't find a bigger or better selection of material to build your project and why award winning designers, homebuilders and architects use Facings of America's products in their personal homes.
What is the difference between Facings Terracotta and Saltillo or Terracotta products of Mexico?
The major difference is in the quality of the clay and the process used to produce the products. Facings' Terracotta uses a finer mixture of clay that won't leave behind ugly residues and creates a superior appearance. Our terracotta is baked longer and at higher temperatures to produce a superior look and product that allows our terracotta to be frost resistant and suitable for both indoor and outdoor usages. During the production process, the air in our Terracotta is also removed making our terracotta more durable and resistant to breakage.
How much Thinset will my project require?
The amount of thinset needed for a project will depend upon how thick the thinset is applied to the substrate. Each installation requires different amounts and there is no set rule to answer this question. A licensed tile contractor should be consulted to determine the needs of your individual project. For budget purposes, a 50 pound bag of thinset using a quarter inch notch trowell will cover approximately 50-70 square feet.
